The Speak Easy national group is thankful for the guidance provided by the Free Speech Union (FSU). Through the FSU and Living Freedom, we were able to host events with speakers such as Lord Barwell and David Gauke
Our relationship with Living Freedom has helped us shape our debating model and we would personally like to thank Baroness Claire Fox and Alastair Donald for their continous support.
We have established a network of connections in the House of Lords which gave us the opportunity to hold our first ever debate on Free Speech in the House of Lords moderated by Baroness Anne Jenkins
You may recognise our founders Omar Loubak and Jack Barwell on GB News where they were on Free Speech Nation with Andrew Doyle. We hope our message for Speak Easy resonates with those who feel their speech is restricted.
Speak Easy was a main speaker at the Battle of Ideas festival, our founder Jack Barwell gave a passionate speech of his struggles with free speech at his university which led to him starting the Speak Easy Exeter branch.
We had the opportunity to hold a Speak Easy event with Former Lord Chancellor David Gauke. We also held debates regarding the Rwanda and Net Zero Bill. Our event was a major success.
